Matsu-ryū (pine knot) is a self-protective tissue formed when pine trees are injured, with its main components being polyphenolic compounds. Dr. Hui Shao, president of the Japanese Society for Integrative Reproductive Medicine, and Dr. Zhou conducted scientific research on pine knot extract during their time at Harvard. Academic studies have confirmed that pine knot extract can inhibit the production of platelet-activating factors, reduce platelet aggregation, and prevent thrombosis, thereby helping to prevent miscarriage. Dr. Hui Shao and Professor Yanagihara, president of Japan’s University of Occupational and Environmental Health, pursued nearly 20 years of research on pine knot extract.
